At School we studied the color red and apples during the month of September.
You can see the apple stickers on this view.
Stand-up Elmo (made from an empty tissue roll) and a little paper weight thingy – the white stripe of sand in this glows in the dark!
A Study in red
Finger painting – a masterpiece, I know. But, I did NOT enjoy doing this!
Apple & Strawberry – both RED fruit
A cow I branded with red sponge paint
5 Little Pumpkins Sitting On A Fence - an illustration for our story that day.

For comparison’s sake, check out this previous post first.
This is Darius’ progress in the last 10 months or so – the most significant improvements coming, coincidentally or not, soon after receiving treatment.
He never did this (sitting unsupported on this stool) so proficiently (for so long, w/o support, w/o toppling off) before treatment…
A little more than 6 minutes of video, and he was still sitting there after David stopped recording, took the camera to his computer, turned the video into a Quicktime movie, transferred it to portable media, gave the memory card to me, and I sat and watched him still sitting there for awhile, then I got up to come post it here, and he was still sitting there!

How To Make a Carpet Fly…

First, you borrow an idea from the Bridge School Website.
Then you find some stiff cardboard. Ours came from a diaper box (diapers purchased at a warehouse store) and cut it to desired shape:

As the title says, that’s all this is. Possibly only interesting to Grandmothers who’ll be missing every-day updates while we’re away beginning Wednesday night.
Punkin Huntin
2 October 2008
Today I went with Darius’ class to a pumpkin patch that’s pretty close to our house. The good news is that going with a school, admission was free. The bad news is, if you go individually, it’s $12 just to get in. The good news, Cottonwood Farms is not the most expensive pumpkin patch out there.
The first thing we did when we got there was go on a hayride.
With all the strollers & chairs, there wasn’t a lot of room for hay. It was a bouncy ride, and nearly every child fell asleep, except Darius – he loves bouncy, and was having a blast!
Next, we went to feed baby goats – well little goats, anyway. They ate grain out of an ice cream cone, then ate the cone. I Don’t really have a decent picture of it, but, here ya go:
We were getting ready to go, and saw this cow bench, just begging to have it’s picture taken with us.
We took a couple versions of a class picture. This is the one, I thought, turned out best…
…But this one has more people in it:
…Sam’s Dad, Timmy, Angie, Timmy’s brother, & Timmy’s grandmother.
After taking this last photo, everyone went & loaded the vans while I bought a couple of pumpkins for our house – the children each got a freebie. We had to get back to the school for lunch.

This video was taken by Grandma on her “still” camera. It’s a little grainy, but still good!
