Punkin Huntin

Pumpkins at Cottonwood Farms

Pumpkins at Cottonwood Farms

Today I went with Darius’ class to a pumpkin patch that’s pretty close to our house.  The good news is that going with a school, admission was free.  The bad news is, if you go individually, it’s $12 just to get in.  The good news, Cottonwood Farms is not the most expensive pumpkin patch out there.

The first thing we did when we got there was go on a hayride.

With all the strollers & chairs, there wasn’t a lot of room for hay.  It was a bouncy ride, and nearly every child fell asleep, except Darius – he loves bouncy, and was having a blast!

Next, we went to feed baby goats – well little goats, anyway.  They ate grain out of an ice cream cone, then ate the cone.  I Don’t really have a decent picture of it, but, here ya go:

Between not being able to see the LCD screen, and batteries dying, I'm surprised to even find goats in this one!

LCD screen, sun behind me, and batts dying, I'm surprised to even see goats here!

We were getting ready to go, and saw this cow bench, just begging to have it’s picture taken with us.

We took a couple versions of a class picture.  This is the one, I thought, turned out best…

After taking this last photo, everyone went & loaded the vans while I bought a couple of pumpkins for our house – the children each got a freebie.  We had to get back to the school for lunch.

Since many of you have not had the opportunity to read my blog on Myspace.com, I’ve decided to re-post some of my faves from that time here – edited where necessary, and spell checked too. :-)

BY ORDER OF THE TSA

Midway to Humiliation

So, I’m going thru airport security – cause that’s what you gotta do these days. Our flight out of Midway is at oh dark thirty, which means we’re going thru security at practically la madrugada (middle of the night for all you non-Spanish speakers). Consequently, I forget to remove & show ALL of Buba’s meds & food from our carry on. Big mistake. (Another big mistake is taking a baby thru security in bib overalls with genuine metal fasteners no matter how cute he is in them – but that’s another story.) Read the rest of this entry »
