End the R-Word

Dear friends,
Today, 3-31-09, is a special day that has been set aside to honor those with special needs. There is a movement going around the world to end the use of the R-Word (retard). Today I am inviting you to join this group and, by doing so, take the R-Word pledge. That simply means that you will not use the R-Word, not even about yourself. It also means that you will teach your children to do the same and, hopefully, take a stand when you hear the word used. Please be a part of this historic day by joining, and inviting others to join as well!

Take the opportunity to pledge to end the derogitory use of the r-word.

This is Darius’ progress in the last 10 months or so – the most significant improvements coming, coincidentally or not, soon after receiving treatment.

He never did this (sitting unsupported on this stool) so proficiently (for so long, w/o support, w/o toppling off) before treatment…

A little more than 6 minutes of video, and he was still sitting there after David stopped recording, took the camera to his computer, turned the video into a Quicktime movie, transferred it to portable media, gave the memory card to me, and I sat and watched him still sitting there for awhile, then I got up to come post it here, and he was still sitting there!
